The Mad Rapper
Hailing from the grimy underground on the Eastside of Waterloo, Ace has unofficially been Loo Townz Finezt since 2006, when he dropped his first solo project: Wordz of Wisdom. With a strong focus on lyrical content and storytelling, he avoids the trends and stays hidden beneath the surface.
Never spoon-feeding listeners, but always shining a light on the path for those with eyes to follow, he calls out society’s ills and warns listeners to stay on guard on tracks like Wake ’Em Up, Class Warfare and Thought For Food.
Hip-hop as a weapon, a journal, and a light in the dark.
One third of the hip-hop group RAR3 BR33D, the Iowa trio he runs with EXO-152 and DJ E-Knowledge — with Big Vern the honorary “fourth member” behind the boards, who mixed and mastered both group projects. It started with “Locally Grown,” a track the three of them cut before the group had a name; the chemistry stuck and RAR3 BR33D followed — two albums deep now, the self-titled in 2014 and Class Warfare in 2017, both mixed by Big Vern of Sonic Militia.
In 2015, the Mad Rapper LP landed. Produced end to end by Jizza Beatz, mixed by Big Vern, scratches by E-Knowledge, and a guest list pulled straight from the Iowa underground.
A decade later, Ace x Vern is the reunion: Vern on the production, Ace on the mic, and ten tracks with nothing wasted. Same 319, sharper pen and studio game.
